CD Rates: Sacramento Bank CD Rates
Are you looking for Bank CD Rates in the Sacramento, California Area? There are a wide variety of banks to choose from. Personally, you’ll probably do better with an online search or even here for best 1-year CD Rates.
But here are a few for your reading and potential visting pleausre.
Bank of America actually has quite a few offers. Although, I personally think they are too big, you can of course find one in just about every city in America. They have a 30-month IRA special at 2.10% APY. They have a 1-year CD rate at 0.80% which is pretty pitiful. You can find a Sacramento Branch by calling (916) 373-6920.
Wells Fargo is another large bank. They are only found in every other city. LOL. They have a 5-year CD (58-months actually) that is competitive at 2.90%. However, their other CD rates will leave one in a very somber mode. Call (916) 440-4331 for local branches.
American River Bank is a true Sacramento area bank. They were born and raised here. They don’t seem to have their certificate of deposit rates posted on-line so I’ll update this post if they send them to me. They can be reached at (916) 565-6100. I was a little disappointed when I noticed they still haven’t updated their Copyright notice to 2010. I feel better when little details are paid attention to.
Bank of Sacramento is another Sacramento native. They also didn’t post CD interest rate info. But, I guess this gives a good opportunity to test their customer service as well. I do understand the desire to talk to me, but for convenience sake, it would be nice for yields to be posted.
First Northern Bank is based in Dixon, but has branches in the Sacramento Area also. Again, the CD rates weren’t easily available, but once I started an on-line app, I could view them. And not much to write home about. So far the hometown boys are letting me down.
Safe Credit Union is NCUA insured. The NCUA is just as safe as the FDIC and some would argue even better, but that is another article. Their rates are in-line with other Sacramento Area financial institutions. 1-year at 0.90%, 2-Year at 1.45% and 5 to 6-year at 2.30%.
Frankly, with some searching you can do better if you don’t mind moving your funds outside of the Sacaramento Area.
Happy CD Hunting.
